“Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.”

When Bryon and I met in May 2005, I was a single mother with 4 children. Months went past before I spoke to him again, but when we did, we couldn’t get enough of each other. We talked on the phone daily, the longest conversation being  over 8 hours!

In the beginning of December 2005, Bryon proposed to me over the phone, I said yes! Since Bryon was living in Sidney, Ohio, and I was living in Ironwood, Michigan, we made plans to bring Bryon home to us.

On Christmas eve, we took the 14 hour drive to pick him up, and on January 1, 2006, we made it back home. That’s when our life together truly began.

On Friday the 13th of January 2006, we were married. We decided to add one more child to the equation. Tyrson was born in November 2006.

Over the last 6 years, our lives have changed drastically. When we made the decision to step away from the white nationalist movement, we experienced harassment and death threats. Our property was damaged, and at school events, our children dealt with intimidation. Our children weren’t able to go out and play in fear that they would become victims of drive by’s or assaults. We decided it would be in everyones best interest to move.

In March 2008, leaving behind most of our belongings, we moved to Tennessee. At that point, we had already been approached by the Southern Poverty Law Center to get Bryon’s tattoos removed, and participate in the documentary. They found a wonderful plastic surgeon, Dr. Shack, to perform the surgeries, and Bill Brummel productions would do the filming.

The entire process of the removal, filming, to the final draft of our documentary, Erasing Hate, took well over 2 years! Since that time, the associated press put out an article about our lives from before, during, and after the removal. Which might be why you even know who we are!

In the following pages, you will see the transition of our lives over the last 6 years, to where we are today. We really appreciate you making your way to our site. God Bless - Julie
